Chemical Peels are a foundational treatment in the facialists toolkit, treating a broad range of skin conditions and used in the fight against premature ageing. BHA/AHA Facial Peels can work in combination with Skin Needling and IPL therapy. Like all advanced treatments, they are not without risk and thus correct training is important for providing the best outcome for clients.

The ITEC Level 4 Certificate in Skin Peels is a professional qualification that provides comprehensive training in the field of skin peels. This certification is offered by ITEC, which stands for the International Therapy Examination Council. ITEC is a leading international examination board specialising in beauty and spa therapy qualifications.

ITEC Level in Skin Peels

The Level 4 Certificate in Skin Peels is designed for individuals who already have a solid foundation in beauty therapy or skincare and want to enhance their knowledge and skills specifically in the area of skin peels. Skin peels are cosmetic procedures that involve the application of chemical solutions to the skin to exfoliate and rejuvenate it, promoting a more youthful and radiant appearance.

During the course, students learn about various types of skin peels, including superficial, medium, and deep peels, as well as the ingredients used in different peel formulations. They study the physiological processes that occur during a skin peel treatment and gain an understanding of skin anatomy, skin types, and skin conditions. Additionally, students learn about client consultation, contraindications, and post-treatment care.

Practical training is a significant component of the course, allowing students to develop hands-on skills in performing skin peel treatments. They learn about skin analysis, peel application techniques, and how to assess and manage treatment outcomes. Safety and hygiene protocols are also emphasised to ensure the well-being of both the client and the therapist.

To attain the ITEC Level 4 Certificate in Skin Peels, students are required to complete both theoretical and practical assessments. These assessments may include written exams, case studies, practical demonstrations, and oral questioning. Upon successful completion of the course, individuals will be qualified to offer skin peel treatments professionally and may seek employment in beauty salons, spas, or even establish their own businesses.
