Advanced skin care has moved far beyond the traditional beauty therapy education, resulting in a new breed of evidence-based courses suitable for medical and non-medical based practitioners.

Since the JCCP (Joint Council for Cosmetic Practitioners) launched in the UK in partnership with the CPSA (Cosmetic Standards Practice Authority), we have a new set of guidelines for the delivering of training. It is voluntary, so not all awarding bodies or training providers will adhere to the new standard in education. When performing your research look for courses that mention adhering to the JCCP & CPSA or the HEE Qualification Requirements for Delivery of Cosmetic Procedures.

Level 4 Diploma in Aesthetic Therapy

Designed as an alternative to a beauty specialists diploma such as CIDESCO. The course offers an alternative route into the industry for people wanted to enter advanced skin aesthetics but have no interest in general beauty treatments, The course provides a complete foundation education as you would find in a CIDESCO diploma but structured towards the more advanced device led treatments. You come out of the course Level 4 qualified in a host of treatments and unlike a beauty specialist certificates is compliant with the HEE directives in training.

Level 4 Certificate in Skin Rejuvenation

Our new flagship course on Skin Rejuvenation is the first of its type in Ireland. It represents a fundamental shift in training providing a well-rounded foundation in dermal science. Also new in the course format is psychology for aesthetic practice. This critical module addresses “at risk groups” and body dysmorphia, an unfortunate growing concern. The theory is delivered through our eLearning system, which provides flexibility for you while allows us to concentrate more on skills in the practical classes.

Another shift in the new course design is to move away from ‘modular learning” which always leaves knowledge gaps. Our focus is on delivering a broad understanding of all techniques and the required knowledge to carry out the treatment the client needs rather than a procedure the person was taught. Once you have completed the level 4 course you can progress to level 5, the course goes through to level 7. Details on levels 5, 6 and 7 will be released in 2019, it is, however a requirement to complete the level 4 course before proceeding.
